Bilingualism, Multiculturalism Commission : Securing More Serene Working Environment

The National Commission on the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism is preparing to institute staff representatives intended to enable it effectively carry out its missions.

Members of the National Commission on the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism are starting their new mandate following renewal by President Paul Biya on May 13, 2022 with the institution having the strong zeal to put in place all internal structures that will enable it optimally carry out its missions.One of such internal structures is the institution of staff representatives who will serve as mediators between hierarchy and the staff in relation to handling the grievances of the staff. It was with the intention of instituting staff representatives that the Commission whose Chairperson is Peter Mafany Musonge organised a four-day training workshop at the Yaounde head office of the institution that ended on July 15, 2022. The workshop that curiously concerned all the staff was on the theme, “The institution of staff representatives.” The different experts lectured the staff on the judicial basis of the institution of staff representatives that is provided for by the Labour Code, obligations of the employer towards the staff representatives, obligations of the staff representative toward the employer and the other staff and the protection of staff representatives.
