2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations : Last Two Fixtures Known

Morocco plays South Africa in the final on Saturday meanwhile Nigeria meets Zambia in the third place match a day earlier.


Out of the 28 matches programmed to be played in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, only two are left to call it close for the competition. They are the third place match pitting Nigeria and Zambia and the final pitting South Africa and Morocco.
Nigeria and Zambia will meet on Friday July 22, 2022, 9 p.m. at the Stade Mohammed V of Casablanca. Nigeria’s monopoly of the trophy was broken by Morocco who defeated them in the semi-finals of the competition on July 18, 2022. This defeat is the Super Falcon’s second after their group failure against South Africa. They made it to the semi-finals after overpowering the Lionesses of Cameroon in quarters and hoped to make it to final. A desire which was annulled by Morocco. The defending champions are now hoping to clinch the third place against Zambia. 
The Copper Queens on their part dreamt of making it to the last two but their dreams were shattered by South Africa in their semi-final game on July 18, 2022. Zambia had not experienced any defeat in the competition until the semi-finals. Despite having progressed right up till the semi-finals, Zambia got stiff resistance from Cameroon and Senegal, ending up the games with draws. The girls of Coach Bruce Mwape only hope to grab the third place which is equally synonymous to a job well done.
