Healthy Diplomatic Relationship

Cameroon and France since establishing links at the ambassadorial level in 1960 entertain growing fruitful ties at all levels based on mutual respect and understanding.

Cameroon and France are age-old partners who have evolved together for decades with much to show on the ground in terms of mutually-beneficial gains.  Since establishing diplomatic relations at the ambassadorial level in 1960, the two countries have witnessed dynamic relations. The number of Cameroonian nationals holding residence permits or authorisations in France is estimated at 60,000. The meeting of the two leaders at Cameroon’s State House tomorrow July 26, 2022 will therefore be the second time and much is expected to be discussed to keep the historic relations growing from strength to strength and reciprocally benefitting the two States and peoples.
The historic and excellent bond between Cameroon and France again witnessed a major boost on October 23, 2019 with an audience President Paul Biya granted at Unity Palace to Jean-Yves Le Drian, the visiting French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs. ¨President Paul Biya and Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian used the meeting to seek a common ...
