2021 Islamic Solidarity Games : U-23 Lions Begin Training

Some 24 players recently selected by newly appointed coach, Guy Feutchine started bracing up yesterday in Yaounde.

The new U-23 Lions Coach, Guy Feutchine will have his first litmus test in the upcoming Islamic Solidarity Games slated to run from August 9 to 18, 2022 in Konya, Turkey. It is to produce favourable output in this competition that the trainer selected a 24-man squad to represent the nation. 
This squad made up of mainly local players began bracing up yesterday, July 25, 2022 at the Yaounde Omnisports stadium. During the training expected to run until August 3, 2022, the deputy Coach of the team, Laurent Djam says their first priority is to work on cohesion before tackling issues of psychology and tactics.
As for who makes the different compartments, Coach Guy Feutchine selected three goalkeepers. They include, Wislow Hecube of Apejes of Mfou, Samuel Elimbi of Union of Douala and Nwoagou Fansu of As Fortuna. The defence is the densest compartment of Coach Feutchine. He chose a total of 14 players in this segment with the likes of Rincesse Ygor Tsolefack of Apejes of Mfou and Goni Ali of Coton sport topping the list.
