Pan African Schools Championship : Cameroon’s Representatives Known

The first edition of the national finals of the competition ended at the Ngoa-Ekelle Stadium in Yaounde on Monday July 25, 2022.

Lycée Général Leclerc of Yaounde (Centre Region) and Government Bilingual High School Pitoa, Garoua (North Region) are the winners of first edition of the national finals of the Pan African Schools Championship that ended at the Ngoa-Ekelle Stadium in Yaounde on Monday July 25, 2022. Organised by the Ministry of Secondary Education in collaboration with FECAFOOT, the competition brought together ten teams selected from divided into four cultural backgrounds of Cameroon. These are North, South, Coastal and Grassfield areas. 
In the women’s final, Lycée General Leclerc of Yaounde beat Government Bilingual High School of Garoua 1-0. The lone goal of the game was scored by 14-year-old Elvira Ndjoumessi at the last minutes of the game. In the men’s final, Government Bilingual High School of Garoua beat Government Bilingual High School Mamfe 1-0 to lift the trophy. 
The coach of Government High School Garoua, Fisu Docteur Slyvestre expressed satisfaction with the performance of his team. He said he said he has confidence in his players and in himself. He said he believes the team will make it in the zonal tournament. The coach of Government Bilingual High School Mamfe said his team was unable to win the final due to tiredness caused by the long journey from Mamfe to Yaounde added to the fact that the team played three matches on the same day. He however said he is sure that team will do better in the FENASSCO Games in Mvomeka in the days ahead...
