2022 Guinness Super League : Awa, Champions!

With three playing days left and a 13-point difference from direct followers, Éclair, the club mathematically clinched its second consecutive title after Day 19 matches on Sunday.

The warriors of AS Awa FC just like last season are in top form. With three playing days still left to the end of the championship, the defending champions, can start beating their chest as the winners of this year’s edition of the female first division competition. After Day 19 played over the weekend, the club tops the classification table with 52 points, 13 above their direct followers, Éclair FF (39 points). Mathematically, Awa have already bagged their second consecutive title given that even if Éclair wins all remaining three matches and add another nine points to their current points, they will not be able to meet up with Awa. 
Éclair FF gave Awa the possibility to declare themselves winners after their 2-2 draw against Caiman Filles on Sunday July 31, 2022. Awa then widened the gap again by beating Eding Sport 4-0 on same day at the Olembe annex one stadium. This victory is thanks to a hat-trick from Lamine Mana and a goal from Georgette Ngo Boum.
