2021 Islamic Solidarity Games : Cameroon Harvests More Medals

The country counted a total of 12 medals, two in gold, five in sliver and five in bronze at press time yesterday.

Cameroonian athletes continue to honourably defend fatherland at the ongoing Islamic Solidarity Games in Konya, Turkey. At the time of this report yesterday August 15, 2022, Team Cameroon counted a total of 12 medals of which two in gold, five in silver and five in bronze. A gold medal from Eyenga Mbossi in weightlifting (women’s 76kg) over the weekend came to add to that of Eseme obtained in athletics last week. 
Clémentine Meukeugni yesterday August 15, 2022 opened the silver medal tally for Cameroon. She lined up a total of three silver medals in weightlifting (87kg).  The Cameroon men’s volleyball team also clinched a silver medal after being beaten by Iran 3 sets to 1 yesterday in the final. The Cameroonian team did everything within their capacity to clinch gold, but their Iranian opponents had the exact formula to emerge victorious. Elisabeth Norah Milanesi also won silver for team Cameroon in swimming.
As for bronze medals, weightlifter Eyenga Mbossi and the women’s handball team came to add two to the three earlier harvested by Sarah Hanffou in table tennis, Linda Angounou in the women’s 400m hurdles and Nora Monie in the women’s discus.
