Douala II In Session

The council session that took place on August 11 was dedicated to the evaluation of the execution of the midterm budget.

Councillors of Douala II council on Thursday, August 11 met in the second ordinary session of 2022 dedicated to the evaluation of the council budget as of June 30th 2022. The session is coming at a time when the council is also recovering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is on record that for 2022, the Douala II council budgeted the sum of CFA 3,024,000,000 and a brought forward of CFA 457,078,820 from 2021 which gives a total of CFA 3,481,078,820 as against CFA 3,112,721,939 in 2021.
Reports during the mid-term evaluation session also indicated that as of June 30, the Douala II council has collected the sum of CFA 1,910,829,335 in terms of revenue as compared to CFA 1,418,322,178 same time in 2021. In terms of expenditure, the council recorded the sum of CFA 893,190,609 as against CFA 642,151,259 in 2021, which gives an increase of CFA 251,039,350 in real terms and 39.09% in relative terms. Of the above expenditure, CFA 606,348,033 were recorded as operating expenditure, giving a 49.53% of total expenditure incurred which gives  an increase of  CFA 82,527,953 in real terms and 15.75% in relative terms. While the investment expenditures stood at CFA 286,842,576.
Mayor Denise Fampou attributed the above successes to teamwork and hard work on the part of the staff. She said the above budget is all geared towards the development of the municipality as well as to improving the livelihood of the population.
