CGCE 2022 Session Results : Buea Engulfs With Celebration

There are 114,925 successful candidates nationwide and the examination witnessed an improvement of 7.49%.

Friday August 19, 2022, was unfolding as a normal day in Buea and grinding to an end smoothly until CRTV National Radio 5 pm newscast changed the rhythm of activities. It announced the release of the 2022 session of examinations organised by the Cameroon General Certificate of Education Board (CGCEB). Few minutes later, the results were on the social media with WhatSapp being the most used platform. As successful candidates got their results, the shouting in the town was deafening. 
Neville Njobeh, a student of Government Technical High School Buea, who studied Civil Engineering – Building Construction at TVEE Advanced Level passed seven papers. He said he prepared so well for the examination that his expectation was only success. When he got the results, he was overwhelmed with joy but confused at the same time. Yanzy Yannick, another successful Advanced Level candidate in five papers, said when he learnt that the results had been released, he was so scared and confused at the same time. But the moment he saw his name he shouted endlessly with joy. Many candidates took to entertainment places celebrating. 
Globally, the examination registered 182,265 candidates but 167,977 candidates effectively put pen on paper. Then 114,925 candidates passed and 53,053 failed giving a percentage pass of 70.2% in 2022 against 62.75% in 2021, hereby marking an increase of 7.49%.
