U-21 Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship : Cameroon Wins Bronze

The young Lions won the third place match against Nigeria 3 sets to 0 on August 22, 2022 in Tunisia.


The 2022 U-21 Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship ended on August 22, 2022 in Tunisia with Egypt emerging champions and Tunisia vice champions. The U-21 Lions of Cameroon finished third, thus clinching the bronze medal of the continental showpiece. The team of coach Albert Litouang overpowered Nigeria 3 sets to 0 in the third placed match played on August 22, 2022 to be among the best three teams.  
The first set saw Cameroon narrowly winning 25-21. In the second set, the Cameroonians after a hard struggle won 25-20. Good spikes and blocks partly worked in favour of the young Lions during the set. The last set was much tight as Nigeria knew that they had to do all it takes to prolong the game if they want to keep their hopes of winning alive. Cameroon equally came into the last set as Lions who will do everything possible to end the game at that level. At the end, the psychological superiority and technical knowhow of the young Lions worked in their favour and they clinched the last set 25-23.
