2022 FIFA World Cup Preparations : Two Friendlies For Cameroon

The Indomitable Lions are expected to face Uzbekistan and South Korea during the September FIFA window.

The Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has announced that within the framework of preparations ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will play two friendly matches during the September FIFA window. According to the communique that makes public the two friendly matches, Cameroon will first take on Uzbekistan on September 23, 2022 before clashing against South Korea on September 27, 2022. Both games will be played in South Korea.
With regards to the first game against Uzbekistan slated for 3 p.m. at the Goyang stadium in South Korea, Cameroon maybe facing a fairly weak opponent. Uzbekistan has never participated in the World Cup contrarily to Cameroon that has had several stints in the world football jamboree. The Asian side that is not at the top when it comes to football is ranked 77th in the latest FIFA ranking as compared to Cameroon that occupies the 38th position. While the Uzbekistan team is reportedly made up of mainly local players, Cameroon has a rich squad with a majority of her players plying their trade for renowned football clubs in the world. Kick starting their friendly against a country like Uzbekistan may amongst other things help to boost the morale of the Indomitable Lions before they continue their preparatory campaign.
