Cameroon Human Rights Commission : Appointed Officials Installed

The Commission’s Chairperson, Prof. James Mouangue Kobila presided at the ceremony on September 1, 2022.

Newly appointed officials at the Cameroon Human Rights Commission have been installed. Appointed by the Commission’s Chairperson on August 18, 2022, they were commissioned into their functions on September 1, 2022 by Prof. James Mouangue Kobila. The appointed officials, amongst others include the Head of Division for the Protection and Promotion of Human Rights at the Commission’s head office, Chief of Cabinet at the Chairperson’s Cabinet, heads of regional branch offices and other staff. They each, after their installation, signed a letter of engagement to impartially carry out their duties in accordance with the law. A total of 29 appointments were made in six different decisions signed by the Chairperson with women occupying 41 per cent in senior positions.
Commissioning the officials, Prof. James Mouangue Kobila said their appointments are an important step towards the restructuring of the Commission for better output. “As far as the way you carry out your duties is concerned, you should never lose sight of the fact that the Commission is a public service.
