Administrative Positions : Law For Female Quota?

Cameroonian women in managerial positions are said to be effective but very few.

Women just like men are humans with functional brains and thus can execute mental work done by men after same educational training. However, one observes that within the labour force, especially as you ascend the professional ladder, fewer women are seen at the top. In Cameroon for example, institutions of higher learning have a higher female percentage as students, but upon graduation, managerial positions are occupied by men. The same scenario is observed in the political landscape where women are fewer in top positions. Should a law therefore be set for a feminine quota representation in top administrative positions in Cameroon?
Some hold that, women, by their naturally motherly character are more diverse in problem-solving. That means they have more options in addressing professional challenges of staff members. In addition, women are said to have increased organisational collaboration compared to men, making work space less stressful with their beautiful smiles. By implication, women in top managerial positions will better collaborate with staff for better productivity.
Another reason advanced in favour of a quota for female representation in executive positions is that there is improved financial performance from institutions, especially financial institutions. People who subscribe to this school of thought buttress their point with a research carried out by McKinsey & Company which states that increased female representation is synonymous to positive performance. The same study indicates that companies with 30 percent more women executives are more likely to outperform companies by between 10 and 30 per cent. In turn, these companies are more likely to outperform those with even fewer women executives or none at all. Higher employee engagement is equally another positive aspect in institutions in which female representation is at a considerable rate. Female representation in administrative positions in Cameroon is however improving over the years.
