Registration of Domestic Workers : Systematic Controls Announced

In a recent press release, the General Manager of the National Social Insurance Fund is calling on all employers to respect exiting texts.

Since the call by the General Manager of the National Social Insurance Fund, (NSIF) Noël Alain Olivier Mekulu Mvondo Akame, for all Cameroonians to declare and register their domestic workers, many people are still dragging their feet. Against this backdrop, the NSIF boss has made another call indicating that as from next month, systematic investigations and controls will be organised throughout the national territory (in various homes) in a bid to ensure that each Cameroonian declares and registers their domestic servants. Mr Mvondo has underlined that measures will be taken to ensure a strict and rigorous application of the existing laws.
In a press release dated September 9, 2022, Mr Mvondo is reminding the public that anyone employing domestic workers at home or in any private place is required to declare and register them with the social protection company, together with the payment of the related social security contributions. According to the reminder notice, it is a legal, social and moral obligation for employers to declare and register the service of domestic workers.
