Bassa : Underprivileged Children Equipped

Entertainment and leisure were a part to fight juvenile delinquency.

The humanitarian association Jeunesse en joie in collaboration with the Bassa Multifunctional Reference Center of the Ministry of Youth and Civic Education, organised an entertainment and leisure activity for young people of from 5 to 17 years from the Cité Sic neighbourhood in Douala.
The one month educative exercise whose aim was to keep the children busy in a manner beneficial to them and away from juvenile delinquency during this soon-to-end summer holidays ended on recently. Through educational talks, excursions, English lessons, theatre, drawing, computers, dance, a national language, games, reading, they have been equipped to face the 2022-2023 school year successfully.
According to Julie Mbarga, President of Jeunesse en joie, the programme will continue in the course of the new school year particularly on Saturdays at the center located at the Cité SIC market of the Douala V municipality. As a result, parents and able children are being considered for the exercise.
