African Handball Clubs Championship : Cameroonian Clubs Fail To Impress

Esperance Tunis and Primero d’Agosto emerged champions in the competition that ended in Tunisia on Sunday October 9, 2022.


The 43rd edition of the African Handball Clubs Championship ended in Tunisia on Sunday October 9, 2022. Organised by the Confederation of African Handball (CAHB), the competition brought together 22 teams (10 men’s and 12 women’s) on the continent. The competition took place in two cities; Hammamet and Nabeul. At the end of the competition, Espérance Sportive de Tunis won the men’s trophy for the second time after beating Zamaleck SC 28-24 in the final that took place in Hammamet on Sunday October 9, 2022. 
In the women’s competition, FAP and TKC were able to make it to the quarter final stage of the competition. In the quarterfinals FAP lost to Moknine of Morocco 33-38. Still in the quarterfinals Petro Atletico of Angola beat TKC women 31-15. Primeiro of Angola beat El Biar 27-17 and Habitat beat DGSP 51-50.
In the women’s classification Primeiro is first followed by Petro de Agosto and CF Moknine. FAP Yaounde are on the fifth spot out of 11 teams. Primeiro de Agosto once again clinched the trophy, extending Angola’s domination in the competition to an unprecedented 27 titles. It was Primei...
