Parliamentary Network For Youth Advocacy : MPs Engage Buea Institutions On Digital Economy, Peace

They were laying groundwork for a sojourn in November 2022 to be chaired by the Speaker of the National Assembly in the South West Region.

Members of the Cameroon Parliamentary Network for Youth Advocacy have paid a visit to the South West Region to make ready their upcoming activity aimed at promoting the youth in the Region.According to the head of the delegation, activities to foster youth entrepreneurship and actions to boost digital economy will feature during the awaited parliamentary visit in the South West Regional capital, Buea, this November 2022.
The stopover on Thursday October 13, 2022, began at the South West Governor’s Office where the Coordinator of the Parliamentary Network for Youth Advocacy, Honourable Joshua Osih presented their civilities and mission to the Regional Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai. “The Speaker of the National Assembly with his delegation is planning to be in the South West Region to try and better understand and probably advocate for the digital economy which is a very important sector for the youth. I believe the digital economy would be tomorrow’s most important industry in Cameroon and there is no better place than Buea. That is why we are here to prepare for that visit’’, Hon. Joshua Osih explained.
From South West Governor’s Office their next stop was the South West Regional Assembly. There, exchanges between members of the Regional Executive Council and the august guests lasted an hour and half. At the end of discussions, the Vice President of the South West Regional Assembly who doubles as the President of the House of Chiefs, Chief Dr. Atem Ebako, said he was delighted with the sojourn. He added that these were the type of novelties expected from parliamentarians. “To have activities that connect you directly with your population is an innovation. I thank the Speaker of the National Assembly who validated this,” Chief Dr. Atem Ebako concluded.
