UPC : Court Declares Baleguel Nkot Legal Secretary General

The Administrative Bench of the Supreme Court on October 12, 2022 passed the judgement on the representation case tearing the Union des population du Cameroon (UPC) apart.

The Deputy Secretary General of the Union des populations du Cameroun (UPC) in charge of follow up of the life of the party, Yete Mbote Jacques in a note addressed to the party militants and the general public, disclosed that the Administrative Bench of the Supreme Court in the hearing of October 12, 2022 ruled on the representation case tearing the UPC apart.
With the support of the court decision, he said the court declared the intervention of Robert Bapoot Libot inadmissible. The court also declared the appeal of the State of Cameroon represented by the Ministry of Territorial Administration admissible in form and rejected it for not being justified. The ruling of the Administrative Bench of the Supreme Court therefore laid to rest the quarrel over the representation of the party, rendering Dr Pierre Baleguel Nkot the legal and legitimate Secretary General of the party.
Dr Pierre Baleguel Nkot was democratically elected the Secretary General of the UPC in the Congress of October 2017. In 2018 there was a ministerial decision designating Robert Bapooh Lipot as the Secretary General of the UPC.  A complaint against the decision was filed at Administrative Court for the Centre.
