U23 AFCON Qualifiers : Team Cameroon In Luanda

The Junior Lions will play the away leg second round qualifier against Angola on Sunday October 23, 2022.


The national U23 men’s football team is in Luanda where they will play against the Palancas Negras of Angola in the away leg of the second round qualifier for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations to take place in Morocco in 2023. The match will take place on Sunday October 23, 2023. Ahead of the encounter, the U23 Lions left the country on Tuesday October 18, 2022 for Luanda with a stopover in Addis Ababa. The delegation arrived in Angola yesterday, October 19, 2022. 
Prior to their departure, the Lions had a three-week training session at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo and the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium under the supervision of the head coach Guy Armand Feutchine. The players and the coach were working out wining strategies in order to achieve the best result in the competition. As part of preparations, the U23 Lions played two evaluation matches. During the friendly matches the U23 Lions lost to Fuve Azur 0-4 on October 8, 2022 and were equally beaten by Renaissance of Ngoumou 2-1 on October 13, 2022. The two friendly matches enabled the Coach Guy Feutchine to select 24 players for the expedition.
