Clubs With Players At World Cup : FIFA To Distribute Over 200 Million Dollars

The money to be paid out under the Club Benefits Programme aims to compensate clubs for each day players remain in the competition, including official preparation period.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup is fast approaching and clubs around the world are expected to let their best players go to defend the colours of their national teams. With their fine legs out for a while, this will definitely affect their plans. The clubs are mandated to let the players answer to country duties but they will of course get a compensation in money for each one of the players and the days they stay in Qatar 2022. It is against this backdrop that the world football governing body, FIFA within the framework of its Club Benefits Programme, recently announced that it will distribute the sum of 209 million dollars to clubs that will release players for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The money, according to FIFA, falls within the commitment of the football governing body to recognise the contribution that football clubs make to the successful staging of the FIFA World Cup.
