New Deal At 40 : Major Celebration Directives Outlined

A circular by the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPDM, Jean Nkuete presents guidelines on national celebrations.

November 6, 2022 will be the political anniversary of President Paul Biya. It will be the 40th anniversary of his accession to supreme magistracy. Prior to commemorative activities, the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) has issued a circular, highlighting the theme and celebration directives. This year’s theme is, “Let us further strengthen our mobilisation behind President Paul Biya to jointly pursue nation building actions with one heart, peace and stability under the prism and spirit of National New Deal.” Various points highlighted in the circular takes into consideration the specifications of each constituency and territory, and ensures the implementation of the New Deal at the local level. According to the same document, Heads of the Permanent Regional Delegations of the Central Committee will preside over the celebrations of the forty years of the New Deal in the localities of their choice. Mobilisation will be ensured by Chairperson of CPDM sections in collaboration with Chairpersons of WCPDM and YCPDM.
Referring to the New Deal as a home-grown reality in which everyone recognises Cameroon as a united and indivisible country, the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPDM, invites party members to witness and celebrate the anniversary in the most beautiful way. “On 6 November 2022, we shall therefore legitimately rejoice, to mark the historic day, when our illustrious champion began, like a tireless builder, to commit himself pricelessly for our common course; equal access to freedom and collective accession to the garden of democratic delights,” partly highlight...
