The Flamingoes of Nigeria are valuably representing Africa at the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in India. The Nigeria U17 team defeated USA 4-3 via penalty shootout on Friday October 21, 2022 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to qualify for the semi-finals. The game was forced into penalty shootout after the match ended at full time 1-1. In the other quarterfinals game Colombia thrashed Africa’s other representative, Tanzania 3-0, on Saturday October 22, 2022. 
The semi-finals clash between the Nigeria and Colombia will take place tomorrow Wednesday, October 26, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Margao. In the second semi-finals pairing, Germany who beat Brazil 2-0 on Friday will face Spain at 3:30 p.m. Spain came from behind to beat Japan 2-1 in their quarter-final clash on Saturday October 22, 2022.
