Catholic University of Central Africa : Government Recognises All Certificates Issued

Though it was signed on October 17, 2022, it was all smiles on the lips of students and lecturers alike when the news was broken to them on October 26, 2022 in the Nkolbisson, Yaounde campus of the Catholic University of Central Africa, CUCA. That the Ministry of Higher Education last week issued a decision recognising all the certificates issued by the university. The first time the ministry did so was way back in 1998 - seven years after the 30-year-old university was founded. And then comprised only the major seminary and one faculty.
Speaking on the occasion of the solemn reopening of the 2022-2023 academic year, the Rector of the Catholic University of Central Africa, Rev. Father Prof. Jean Bertrand Salla, commended government for the decision. He said the recognition was extended to certificates issued by the university’s campuses in other Central African nations. This year, the university has admitted about 7,500 students from 17 nations. It has nine faculties, eigth schools, a major seminary and a higher institute. In 30 years of existence, CUCA has trained about 17,000 people and signed partnership agreements with about 70 universities worldwide.
“We are grateful to President Paul Biya for donating 2,000 laptops to our students.
