Poland : Tough Task Ahead

Pooled in Group C, the country will need extra efforts to go past the Group phase.

Group C is among the fiery groups of the upcoming World Cup especially as it features a big wig, Argentina that is ranked third in the world and to a lesser extent, Mexico that is ranked 13th. Poland that is in this group as well as Saudi Arabia will have to tighten their belts if they nurse hopes of going past the group phase. Poland, it should be said, has qualified for just three of the past nine tournaments and never advanced out of the group stage. 
They hope to make a change especially as their 2018 outing in Russia was nothing to write home about. Current Coach Czeslaw Michniewicz who took over the team just in January 2022 led Poland to a 2–0 victory over Sweden in the World Cup qualification play-off final to seal a place in Qatar. The team has since then had several adversaries but will have to make extra efforts to qualify from group C as their recent outings have not been convincing. They lost their last two matches in the Nations League against Wales and Netherlands finishing third in Group 4 with seven points. 
But Poland has some plot armour coming into the World Cup in Qatar with proficient players, amongst which star striker Robert Lewandowski. He featured in Czeslaw Michniewicz 47-man provisional list with the final list of 26 players expected to be unveiled on November...
