Rugby Africa Women’s Cup : Cameroon Concludes Preparations

Some 25 players are making final touches ahead of the competition that kicks off on November 4, 2022 in Olembe, Yaounde.

Group D qualifiers for the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup will kick off in Yaounde tomorrow November 4, 2022. The competition which will run till November 13, 2022 will bring together three teams: Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire and Cameroon. Ahead of the competition, the national women’s rugby XV team is finalising preparations in their hideout in Olembe, Yaounde. A total of 25 players are training under the supervision of the head coach Alfred Daniel Bisso. Training takes place at the Olembe Annex Stadium A twice a day. The players and the coach are working out winning strategies in order to ensure an honourable performance in the competition. 
Actually, Coach Alfred Bisso and the players opened the training camp on October 9, 2022 in Akono near Yaounde. During their stay in Akono, the rugby Lionesse played two friendly matches with the national U20 men’s XV team. After two weeks of intensive training, the team later moved to Yaounde to conclude their preparations. The team has taken up residence at the CNPS Lodge in the Emana neighbourhood away from any distractions from the city. The objective is to secure a ticket for the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup. Alfred Bisso said all the 25 players selected are in good health. He said they are in top form physically, mentally and psychologically.
