Body Building and Fitness : Cameroon Triumphs In Mexico

The national men’s team won seven medals, six gold and one silver at the Hercules Olympia de Queretaro World Championship that ended in Santiago on November 2, 2022.

Cameroonian bodybuilders emerged world champions at the World Bodybuilding and Fitness championship that ended on November 2, 2022 at the Hercules Olympia in Santiago de Queretaro in Mexico.  Organised by the WBBA (World Amateur Bodybuilding) International Hercules Olympia, the competition brought together athletes from 39 countries across the world. Cameroon was represented in the competition by five athletes. 
For one week, Cameroonian athletes once more proved their superiority in the sports discipline, winning a total of seven medals; six gold and one silver.  The flag of Cameroon was seen floating high following the excellent performances of the athletes. Right from kick off, Cameroonian representatives were up to the task. Salomon Manga Amougui emerged world champion in all categories. He first of all won the title of World Champion in the heavy weight category where he beat 25 other opponents after several eliminations. The 26-year-old athlete thus dethroned Elie Tane Newo, his teammate of the national team, outgoing Champion, also being in the final, with two Cameroonians Christian Nsanga and Kevin Anoho and three athletes of other nationalities. It has Manga Salomon’s first World Championship and he won in the individual category and in all categories. Cameroon equally won gold in the teams’ competition.
