Cameroon, Jamaica Share Spoils

The Indomitable Lions to defend the colours of Cameroon at the 2022 FIFA World Cup will be leaving the country on a good note. They succeeded to avoid defeat yesterday November 9, 2022 at the farewell game against Jamaica at the Yaounde Omisports Stadium. The match with very minimal stakes ended on a 1-1 draw.
Cameroon started buoyantly with team captain Vincent Aboubakar leading the troops of local players selected to begin.  He was paired upfront with Marou Souaibou of Coton Sport and Jérôme Ngom of Colombe of Dja and Lobo. The back yard of the Lions was protected by Malone Che and Yves Moukoko. Meanwhile goalkeeper Mbahbi took care of the goal post. The Cameroonians had several scoring chances but failed to concretise them. The Jamaicans on the other side were physically strong preventing the Cameroonians to develop play and used the slightest opportunity to cross the Cameroonian midfield a few times. Aboubakar after giving the pace to his young colleagues was substituted before the end of the first half. Both sides gathered momentum but the first half of play ended on a goalless draw.
