Definite Solutions Are Vital

Crisis are not new to humanity as differences in ideology abound. Cameroon, referred to as “Africa in miniature,” has for over the years been known as a land of peace, till the commencement of Boko Haram attacks in the Far North and the socio-political tensions in the North West and South West Regions. Both external and internal security challenges as well as natural causes like the case of floods in the Far North Region, pose a serious problem to the development of Cameroon. Sacrosanct measures are thus needed. Then came the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction of the North West and South West Regions (PPRD-NW/SW) and the Special Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the Far North Region. 
An overview of both reconstruction plans reveals the same objective; reconstructing destroyed infrastructure, revamping the social economy and promoting social cohesion. Budgets have been adopted and Coordinators put in place. But unfortunately, reconstruction efforts are not very visible as hostilities persist. This means definite solutions need to be adopted. Palatable development takes place in an atmosphere of peace, which means peace is the flour in which the national cake needs to be baked. Here, the government, just like the population need to play a pivotal role to attaining this objective. As security forces continue to be deployed to protect persons and property in the Far North Region, and on a peacekeeping mission in the North West and South West Regions, the population too has to collaborate with authorities.
