North West : Need To Fast-tract Reconstruction

Social cohesion, economic recovery pillars of the Presidential Reconstruction Plan timidly on course.

The implementation rate of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions is relatively slow in the North West Region. Long decreed by the Head of State to give peace and normalcy a chance in the face of the socio-political challenges rocking the region, the Plan is yet to meet the expectations of inhabitants.
At press time, the best that emerges is that virtually all the seven Divisions of the region have submitted projects and are anxiously expecting effective execution. 
It is however, not as if nothing is happening. The social cohesion and economic recovery pillars of the Reconstruction Plan are on course. This is evident with the delivery of some farm inputs to communities. Some 70 farmers from Bafut Subdivision were in the public recently to thank the Head of State for receipt of inputs to enhance production through the United Nations Development Programme. (UNDP). They hailed the Reconstruction Plan whose gifts are impacting their livelihoods.
