University of Buea : Freshmen Take Oath Of Commitment

It was at the 30th matriculation of the institution that saw 9534 students admitted.

Newly admitted students of the University of Buea for the academic year 2022/2023 year have vowed to abide by the institution’s rules and regulations. They took the matriculation oath on Saturday November 5, 2022 at the Herbert Nganjo Amphitheatre. In all, 9 534 students were admitted from 11,738 applicants in UB’s ten establishments but for the Faculty of Health Science. This has taken the entire University of Buea students’ population in the neigbourhood of 36,000. 
Prof. Ngomo Horace Manga, Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, indicated to the students that UB administrators and lecturers will give them the necessary tools and equipment to become useful citizens in the society. “The University of Buea provides the environment to prepare you realise your future career dreams. We want to assure you that we are entrusted with an academic and social mission captured in our mission statement to provide you with the necessary skills through teaching, learning and research. We are equally entrusted with the mandate to mould your character,” he told the students. 
For the freshmen to succed, they were urged to respect the rules that govern UB, uphold classroom ethics, respect for their fellow students, respect classroom timetable, punctuality to lectures and protect the UB’s property.
