South Region : CERAC Donates To Campo Population

The charitable association of the First Lady of Cameroon was in the Ocean Division with diverse gifts to support vulnerable groups over the weekend.


On behalf of the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC), the First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya, who is also UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador, UNAIDS Special Ambassador, the Assistant General Coordinator of CERAC, Beatrice Evou Mekou, on November 12, 2022,
officially handed over to the State of Cameroon the Campo-Town Primary and Nursery Schools and the Campo District Medical Centre rehabilitated and equipped by CERAC. Beatrice Evou Mekou was the representative of the First Lady of Cameroon at the crowd pulling event in which CERAC also offered diverse agricultural tools and foodstuffs to rural women of Campo as well as office apparatus to different public and private institutions in the locality. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Governors of the South and Littoral Regions and a host of elite. 
Beatrice Evou Mekou said as usual, CERAC was in Campo to support vulnerable social groups. She underlined; "The bad state of roads, the remoteness of any locality or the bad weather have never been able to stop the work of the humanitarian caravan of CERAC.” In 2020, CERAC was in Campo for educational talks with students in secondary schools. This time, CERAC widened its charitable actions to different groups. For over 27 years, the Assistant General Coordinator of CERAC said, CERAC has been criss-crossing Cameroon to carry out humanitarian actions in the fields of education, health, the advancement of women and young girls and the fight against poverty and pandemics among others. According to her, the Founding President of CERAC believes the well-being of any human being is not just about money, for it takes into account socio-cultural, educational and health factors.
