Cameroon-Saudi Arabia : Scholarship Programme Scheme Reviewed

Enhancing educational cooperation between Cameroon and Saudi Arabia has been discussed at the Ministry of External Relations. This was during an audience the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu granted the Chargé d’Affaires a.i (Acting Ambassador) of the Saudi Arabian Embassy, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Alzaben on November 15, 2022.
The Saudi Arabian diplomat said they talked on the scholarship programme which exist between the two countries and their experiences. “A couple of months ago when I was here (at MINREX), meeting with Minister Mbella Mbella and I did say Saudi Arabia has given 106 full scholarship programmes to Cameroonian students to go and study in Saudi Arabia. Until last week, 58 students have been beneficiaries of this scholarship amongst which are three women. We are really happy because that number is quite significant compared to the period before Covid-19 when it was only 31 students and all men,” Abdulrahman Ibrahim noted.  
He added that “we discussed our experiences in Cameroon and privilege to serve under the Saudi and Cameroonian flags.”
