Bilateral relations between Cameroon and Morocco are friendly with evident fruits.
The Republic and Cameroon and the Kingdom of Morocco share historic ties with diplomatic relations being established on August 13, 1965. Bilateral ties are governed by a well-defined framework and the authorities of the two countries continuously work at enhancing these relations. To further strengthen mutual relations, the President of the Republic, Paul Biya on November 17, 2022 received in audience the Minister of Economy Inclusion, Small Enterprises, Employment and Skills of Morocco, Younes Sekkouri. He was bearer of a sealed message from the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI.
Politically, two bilateral Mixed-Commission sessions have been held between the two countries, in Rabat (2007) and Yaounde (2012). Within the judicial framework, bilateral cooperation ties are governed by about 20 accords in diverse sectors including economy, trade, tourism, transport, housing and urban development, higher education, smell and medium-sized enterprises, vocational training, and water and energy.
As concerns economy and trade, increased investments have been witnessed on both sides. There are several Moroccan companies in Cameroon such as Royal Air Maroc (aviation), insurance companies like AXA, WAFA Insurance and SAHAM Insurance, and others in the sectors of banking and cement. Some products exported by Cameroon to Morocco include wood, rubber, tea, aluminum and cotton. Cameron in return imports assorted milk, honey, cement, electrical appliances and fish.
