Cameroon-Canada : Departing High Commissioner Honoured

Richard Bale was raised to the dignity of Commander of the National Order of Valour during a State dinner organized in his honour on November 18, 2022.

The outgoing Canadian High Commissioner to Cameroon, Richard Bale leaves the country with indelible memories. 
This begins with a historic Friday, November 18, 2022, during which he first of all had farewell discussions at the Ministry of External Relations. Later in the afternoon, he had Unity Palace farewell discussion with President Paul Biya and in the evening the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu in a State dinner on behalf of the Head of State. The High Commissioner was raised to the dignity of the Commander of the National Order of Valour. After the decoration, Minister Felix Mbayu also handed to the Canadian diplomat a symbolic gift of a royal pipe that signifies the duties, power and prestige of the King and his notables. 
Minister Felix Mbayu and the High Commissioner during the toast and response lauded the growing bilateral relations between Cameroon and Canada whose 60th anniversary is celebrated this year. Highlights were the reopening of the Consular Office of Canada, strengthening of trade ties illustrated by the Canadian company that constructed the Olembe Stadium in Yaounde and renovated the Reunification Stadium in Douala. High Commissioner Richard Bale appreciated the strong educational system in Cameroon, evidence through the capacity of the people.  He said that in Canada, Cameroonian immigrants who are mostly students are of good quality and are very hardworking.
