West Region : CERAC Boosts Healthcare Of Baham Populace

The charitable association of the First Lady on Friday, November 18, 2022, handed over the renovated Baham District Hospital to the State.

Euphoria and a feeling of satisfaction were seen and expressed by the population of Baham in the Upper Plateaux Division of the West Region on Friday, November 18, 2022. The feeling was expressed as the population received a refurbished district hospital from the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC) as well as special gifts to rural women and youths of the area. The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Célestine Ketcha Courtés, who also doubles as CERAC’s Delegate for the West Region, represented the First Lady of Cameroon at the event which was spiced by a rich cultural display from different dance groups in the region and a warm welcome message from the Mayor of Baham, Dieudonné Kamdem.
The population of the West Region and those in Baham in particular, danced and sang songs of gratitude as Minster Célestine Ketcha Courtés unveiled the commemorative plaque of the refurbished Baham District Hospital on which was written:  “November 18, 2022, the Circle of Friends of Cameroon (CERAC) , on behalf of its Founding President, Mrs Chantal Biya, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador, UNAIDS Special Ambassador, officially handed over to the State of Cameroon, the Baham District Hospital, renovated and equipped.”  The joy of the population increased as the representative of the First Lady, joined by a vibrant CERAC delegation, also handed over agricultural tools and other gifts to the rural women and youths in the division. 
Martha Fozeu on behalf of the beneficiaries said their smiles, translate their satisfaction. “Thank you to the CERAC delegation and its Founding President, Mrs Chantal Biya. The gifts we have received will secure and improve our agricultural outputs and eliminate poverty,” Fozeu said.
