The fans of the Indomitable Lions in Buea ended the day with heavy faces yesterday as Embolo, a Cameroonian-born footballer, netted a heart-breaking one-nil goal for Switzerland. As the match began, the population enthusiastically chanted the famous slogan “we go take that cup”. Sadly, the one-nil outcome of the match changed the slogan to “we fit still take that cup”. During the first half of the playtime, the Lions’ dominating play was inspiring. But their close misses kept pointing to a disappointing end.
