Diaspora Holds Forum to Spur Local Investment

The initiative seeks to boost technology transfers and create a bridge between German and Cameroonian economic environment.
Cameroon business people held, from December 14 to 17, a meeting with foreign investors from Africa and Europe. The forum was on the theme “Industrialisation and development for the stability of the African economy”, at the Akwa Salle des fetes in Douala.
The event was organised by a Germany-based Cameroonian Yannick Guetse under the umbrella of his association, the Bantu Development Initiative, with the collaboration of government, European Union, Douala City Council and some organisations.
Participants benefited training in agriculture, ICT, finance and personal development. Companies exhibited their know-how to woo potential consumers. Other activities included a visit of exhibition stands made up of ICT, energy, health and agriculture, business to business exchanges, thematic discussions on agriculture, real estate, financing and business forum... A workshop on how to find jobs in Germany also took place. As well as a meeting between foreign and local investors with local mayors to seek ways of promoting investment in their jurisdictions.
