Obituary : Senator Ankie Rebecca Begins Final Journey

Senate Vice President, Chief Tabetando Ndieb-Nso led the delegation of Senators to the coffining ceremony at the Yaounde General Hospital on April 13, 2023.
The mortal remains of Senator Senator Ankie Affiong Rebecca Amah who died on March 1, 2023 after an illness have been coffined at the Yaounde General Hospital Mortuary. The coffining ceremony on April 13, 2023 was attended by Senators led by the Vice President of the Senate, Chief Tabetando Ndieb-Nso, members of the Central Committee of the Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) which she belonged, elite of the South West Region and other sympathizers. A brief funeral mass was conducted at the Chapel of the health facility.
Testimonies from colleagues and friends of the deceased indicate that she was a welcoming character, understanding and humble. The Senate Vice President, Chief Tabetando Ndieb-Nso noted that she was a very committed militant with so much dynamism, characteristics which he said made her to quickly gain the admiration of the National Chairman of the CPDM which appointed her member of the Central Committee of the party in 1996. He noted that they commonly called her “Colleague Bakassi” and she was very committed to activities of the Senate. “I can only wish for her soul to rest peacefully in the land of our ancestors,” he stated.
