The rugby Lionesses were beaten 52-3 by Kenya during their third outing at the Makis Stadium in Antananarivo on Sunday May 28, 2023.
The national women’s rugby XV have learnt a bitter lesson at the Rugby Africa Women’s Cup First Division that ended in Madagascar yesterday May 29, 2023. The rugby Lionesses were beaten 52-3 by Kenya during their third outing at the Makis Stadium in Antananarivo on Sunday May 28, 2023. That was the first-ever meeting between the two sides. The defeat came as a bombshell to the thousands of fans in Cameroon and abroad. Out of three matches the rugby Lionesses lost all.
During their first outing, they Lionesses lost to the Springbok Women of South Africa 87-0. They were beaten 30-10 by the host country, Madagascar, during their second outing at the Makis Stadium in Antananarivo on Wednesday May 24, 2023. Even though the Lionesses are out of the race for the World Cup, they have learnt some new experiences from the other big teams. The technical bench will need to work on the errors of the team in order to improve on their performance in future competitions.
