Letters Of Credence : Solemnity From Dawn To Dusk!

All is well that ends well! Cameroon’s repertoire of Ambassadors and High Commissioners from friendly countries that share diplomatic ties with Cameroon has been enriched by 24. This follows the marathon accreditation of diplomats assigned to Cameroon in recent months and years which began on Friday June 2 and ended on June 9, 2023. After accrediting five diplomats on Friday June 2, six on Monday June 5, seven on Wednesday June 7, President Paul Biya rounded off the weeklong exercise on Friday June 9, 2023 with five other Ambassadors and a High Commissioner. This totals 24 new diplomats accredited in a week. 
Friday was the turn of Ignacio Rafael Garcia Lumbreras, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Spain; Thierry Marchand, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of France; Mandla Langa, High Commissioner-designate of the Republic of South Africa; Faisal Bin Saud Al-Mejfel, Ambassador-designate of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Djidda Moussa Outman, Ambassador-designate of the Republic of Chad and Busaka Muteba Kashadile, Ambassador-designate of the Democratic Republic of Congo to get accredited by the leader of Cameroon’s diplomacy, President Paul Biya. The exercise elevated them from Ambassadors and High Commissioner-designate to Ambassadors and High Commissioner Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary vested with full powers to boldly represent their countries in Cameroon.  The ceremony began at the esplanade of the State House with the arrivals, proceeded to the main building where they presented the letters calling back their predecessors and assigning them to Cameroon. It ended at the exit end of the courtyard of the Presidency following their departure from the Unity Palace. 
The ball was set rolling at 2 pm with the arrival in quick succession of the six diplomats. Ignacio Rafael Garcia Lumbreras of the Kingdom of Spain was the first to be welcome by the State protocol, led by its Director, Simon Pierre Bikele. The diplomat then respected the Guard of Honour comprising a detachment of the Presidential Guard made up of the music company, the flag of the Republic and its guard, a company of honour with three sections, and a guard of honour with sabres. He also respected Cameroon’s national flag and anthem under the Music Band of the Presidential Guard that animated the exercise. Squadron Commander, Yves James Mve Edou, Commander of the Presidential Guard’s Combat Unit Retraining Centre, commanded troops for the Friday’s Letters of Credence presentation ceremony.
