International Relations Institute of Cameroon : Thirty-seven Diplomatic, Protocol Trainees Graduate

Some 37 diplomatic and protocol trainees have graduated from the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC) after a nine-month training programme. The students from four different countries of the sub region (Cameroon, Chad, Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo) were handed their end-of-course certificates on July 21, 2023 during a ceremony presided at by the Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations, Bindzi Edzimbi Gervais Edmond on behalf of Minister Mbella Mbella. The students comprising 10 women and 27 men had their capacities improved in negotiation techniques, analysis and diplomatic procedures in international relations. The graduates scored grades between 11 and 15 on 20 with the best graduating student being Njeng Gislain, a Cameroonian national. In an order of merit, the best two students are Cameroonians, the third from the Democratic Republic of Congo, fourth from Chad and fifth from Central African Republic. 
Congratulating the graduates, the representative of the Minister of External Relations who himself graduated from IRIC in 1993 urged them to serve their respective countries on the principles of rigour ad moralisation. He told them that the training has equipped them with necessary assets to be diplomats and experts in international relations for the development of the African continent. “IRIC trains competent officials to adapt in a world that is fast changing. You need to use the dynamism acquired to be the image of your country at the international scene,” he stated, adding that Cameroonian trainees need to work at supporting the Head of State’s policy on regional integration and good relationship with neighbours.
