Developing Douala : Councilors Evaluate Project Execution

They met for the third ordinary session for the 2023 financial year October 27.

The third ordinary session of the Douala City Council has held with major improvement on the execution of the 2023 budget. During the Council session that took place on October 27, Councilors evaluted the level of execution of the budget as of September 30, 2023 as well as the budgetary orientation for the 2024 fiscal year.
It came out of the session that as at September 30, 2023, revenue collected stood at FCFA 66,167,584,654, billion, given a percentage of 89% as compared to FCFA 22,483,876,628 billion in absolute value and 51.47% same period in 2022. The rate of achievement of revenue collection compared to forecasts is significantly higher for tax revenues, at 91.6%, than for other revenues which as of September 30, 2023 amounted to 67% of the annual forecast.
As far as expenditures are concerned, FCFA 5,511,859,688 in absolute value and 15.8% in relative value have been spent. The volume of commitments as of September 30, 2023 reached 54.4% of payment appropriations planned for the year, thus marking a very significant catch-up compared to the really low level that was noted mid-term. Expenditure orders also showed an improvement as of September 30, 2023, of FCFA 10,641,714,490 in absolute value and 42.9% in relative value compared to the level recorded in September 2022.
