Higher Education : Pan-African Institute Graduates 335 Students

The students from Sierra Leone, The Gambia, Ghana, Equatorial Guinea, Nigeria and Cameroon were honoured at the Buea-based Pan-African Institute for Development-West Africa (PAID-WA) on Friday, November 10, 2023.

 

Marking the graduation of the 51st, 52nd and 53rd batches in development studies at post-graduate and under-graduate levels in Buea, the Regional Director of PAID-WA, Dr. Gladys Njoukiang Asaah praised the State of Cameroon for its relentless support provided to the institution.
Graduating in various specialisations in MSc, BSc, Higher Technical Diploma in Development and Business Studies, and specialized Development Courses. Specializations include Accounting, Finance and Banking, Conflict Studies, Gender, Migration and Refugee Studies, Transport and Logistics Management, Community and Public Health and more.
In addition to previous batches in other fields, the PAID-WA has introduced new programmes tailored towards vocational training. Some of which are Film Production, Information and Communication Technology, which would involve training in database, cybersecurity and essential network security. Food Processing and Technology would also include the production of fish, snail, poultry, bee farming and animal production.
According to the Secretary General of PAID-WA, Professor Emmanuel Kamdem, the complexities of today’s demands call on students to be receptive. He insisted that due to the intense competition in the Cameroon job market, training must be tailored to suit such needs in order for graduates to fit into today’s society.
