Unprofessional Behaviour : CAF Calls Media To Order

In an information published February 2, 2024, the confederation says media practitioners who go against the rules will have their accreditations withdrawn.

Media practitioners-turn-fans have been the order of the day in the ongoing AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire. There have been several scenes of media men and women going confrontational in press conferences, media centers and media tribunes, in the name of supporting their respective teams. With these acts becoming recurrent, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) is bent on putting things to order. 
In an information published February 2, 2024 on the official website of the confederation, CAF says, it has noted the escalating unbecoming and unprofessional behaviour of some “media practitioners” in working spaces at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2023. The information also indicates that CAF has met with the Local Organising Committee (COCAN) and Police to discuss the situation and find workable solutions.  The confederation further opined that it has equally engaged a number of organisations representing journalists and raised the serious concerns on the behaviour of some “journalists” in media tribunes, media centres and mixed zones.
