John Bosco Nchindo’s 21st minute goal made the difference in the hotly-contested match.
After Colombe of Dja and Lobo and Victoria United last Sunday, Yong Sports Academy (YOSA), another first-timer in the Play-offs Up beat Gazelle of Garoua one nil yesterday at the annex of the Bepanda stadium.
YOSA’s goal was scored at the 21st minute by their captain and providential man John Bosco Nchindo from a poorly cleared free-kick.
The captain and playmaker of the North West club almost missed participating in the Play-offs Up as he was among 62 players that were suspected of having double identity. But he was cleared.
The result of the match didn’t reflect the game on the pitch as Gazelle Garoua were very wasteful. After YOSA’s goal, Gazelle practically played the whole match. They had ball possession and created themselves a lot of scoring chances but to no avail.
