Indomitable Lions : Challenges Ahead For New Staff

Following the appointment in a communique made public on April 2, 2024, Cameroonians are anxiously waiting to see the team renew with glory.
The wait is over. After the non-extension of the contract of Rigobert Song in February this year, a new technical staff has been appointed to man the affairs of the senior men’s national football team of Cameroon. The announcement was made in a communique signed by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi on April 2, 2024. 62-year-old Marc Brys was named new head coach. Joining Brys are several key figures; who have formerly had coaching stints with the national team, signaling a blend of continuity and new direction. François Omam-Biyik steps in as the first Assistant Coach, with Ashu Bessong as the second Assistant Coach, alongside a host of other accompanying staff. They all have diverse portfolios and a share of ideas in utmost professionalism, could fetch the positive results.
With the appointments, one problem has been solved. The next and most important of them all is to see the once cherished national team wake up from slumber.
