African Athletics Championship: Sports Minister Joins The Bandwagon

A protocol agreement was signed between the Ministry of Sports and the main actors on Friday May 10, 2024 Yaounde.

The Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Narcisse Mouelle Kombi, has joined the bandwagon of the organisation of the upcoming African Athletics Championship that will take place in Douala from June 21-26, 2024. A protocol agreement was signed between the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, the Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) and the Cameroon Athletics Federation (FCA) in Yaounde on Friday May 10, 2024. Minister Mouelle Kombi signed for Cameroon government, Kalkaba Malboum signed for the CAA and Emmanuel Motomby Mbome signed for the Cameroon Athletics Federation. 
Speaking at the audience, Minister Mouelle Kombi said Cameroon will host the biggest continental competition which will bring together 54 African countries. With the instructions of the Head of State government the government has decided to bring logistics, material and human resources as well as financial support to this prestigious competition which is in prelude to the Olympic Games which will see the participation of African athletes and Cameroonian athletes as well.  He said with a competition of that calibers Cameroon will like to have its place as a centre of attraction of major international competitions.
