International Golf Open 2024 : Boula Boula Triumphs

The competition rounded off at the Yaounde Golf Club on Sunday May 12, 2024.
It was all joy and jubilation at the Yaounde Golf Club on Sunday May 13, 2024. There was every reason for celebration. Cameroon’s Boula Boula Michel emerged overall winner of the 11th edition of the International Golf Open of Cameroon. He overtook by Njifon Pristhly in the 18th hole of the competition to lift the trophy. He bagged home a cash prize of FCFA 6 million. Njifon Pristhly went home with a FCFA 3 million while the third winner, Awouda Mvogo got FCFA 2 million.
The winners were all Cameroonian professionals. In all Cameroon had four athletes among the top ten in the completion. The best female player Helene Lancesseur won FCFA 300.000 and best male player, Assolo S. got FCFA 300.000. Organised by the Cameroon Golf Federation, the competition brought together over 200 golfers from 16 countries in the world. The athletes comprised of 70 professionals, 75 amateurs, 33 caddies and 16 children. Speaking at the closing, the Director of High Level Sports in the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, Leon Nsangou, called on the golfers to continue working hard in order to write the beautiful pages of sports in Cameroon. He congratulated the golfers, coaches and organisers for the successful organisation of the competition.
