Cycling Tour of Cameroon : Cisse Isiaka Wins Sixth Lap

The cyclist from Côte d’Ivoire finished the 168.7km race in 4h14’07. Kamzong Abossolo is still keeping the yellow jersey.


The sixth lap of the 20th edition of the international cycling Tour of Cameroon took place along the Douala-Limbe-Douala highway yesterday June 6 2024. The kick off was given at 10 a.m. by the Governor of the Littoral region Samuel Dieudonné Ivaha Diboua. It was a bright weather in Douala. A total of 44 cyclists took part in the competition. The cyclists rode along towns and villages in the Littoral and South West Regions. As they rode past, the population came out in their numbers to cheer the cyclists. It was a tough race as each team was determined to win. Cameroonian cyclists worked hard and were on the forefront from time to time.
Despite the scorching sun, the cyclists were full of ambition. Some 15km to the arrival point, the race was halted by the race Commissioner Max Michaud for some technical reasons. The competition was however relaunched shortly after. About two kilometers to the finish line, Cameroonian cyclists led the race with Kamzong at the head with Ivoirian and Burkina Faso cyclists. At the end of the race, Cisse Isiaka finished first in 4h14’07. He was followed by Mouni Vincent from Burkina Faso and Clovis Kamzong Abossolo from the SNH Velo Club with the same time record. Cisse Isiaka’s victory, makes the first time an Ivorian cyclist is winning a lap in the tour of Cameroon.
