Charity Act : Disabled Taximan Receives New Car

The car was donated to Joseph Frunde by benevolents on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, after his previous ride was set ablaze.

Joseph Frunde, a physically challenged taxi man from Bamenda was offered a brand new car in Yaounde on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, after seeing his taxi, the only source of his income burnt by Amba fighters few weeks ago in Bamenda. The handing over ceremony took place at the premises of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon (PCC), Bastos, Yaounde. The car was offered by some personalities like Felix Mbayu, Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations, in charge of Relations with the Commonwealth and Asheri Viviane Kilo, Secretary of State to the Minister of Basic Education, in the presence of the Pastor of the church, Rev. Solange Ndifon and other personalities
Asheri Viviane Kilo said: “It was an emotional scene when Mr Frunde’s car was consumed by fire in Bamenda. He was devastated and destroyed, so he pulled out an appeal for anybody who could help him to restore his life. A few people came together and bought a new car for him for his financial empowerment”. Joseph Frunde recounted what happened: “I could not believe the scene when my driver called me to inform that the car is on fire. It was my only source of income. I thank the donors for the new car. I do not even know which words to use, I am just grateful”.
